Herbal medicine is the oldest and still most widely used system of medicine in the world today. It is medicine made exclusively from plants and it is used in all societies and common to all cultures.

Herbal medicine uses the leaves, flowers, stems, berries and roots of plants to prevent, relieve and treat illness. Each herb contains particular therapeutic constituents or ingredients in its natural context.

Plant medicines can be used for various curative purposes; from treating grazes and cuts to other more serious skin problems, reproductive conditions, digestive complaints, allergies, mental and emotional disorders, stress, insommnia, depression, hyperactivity, arthritis, weight loss, immunity, high blood pressure and endocrine conditions to name just a few.

There are many ways you can take herbal medicine, firstly you can add fresh or dried herbs to your cooking or make a tea.
